Dan Connell and Mark Dunkerley talk about CONSOL Energy?s efforts in R&D. The Advanced Energy Initiative at West Virginia University coordinates and promotes University-wide research in science, technology and public policy. AEI brings together a network of more than 100 energy researchers from four colleges and more than twenty centers or institutes to promote both discipline-specific and multi-disciplinary energy research. Because West Virginia is a leading energy producing state, AEI seeks, through its emphasis on science and technology research, to enable West Virginia's industries to address emerging energy production and consumption issues as well as to create new energy opportunities though discovery and the development of new technologies.
